Inez Youngstrom Preslar

Inez Deon Youngstrom Preslar, 98, of Menan, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2013 at The Gardens Assisted Living Center in Rigby. She was born March 23, 1915 in Nephi, Utah to Perry William Tolley and Ella Fowkes Tolley. She loved living in Nephi with her family and going to school. Later the family moved to Idaho where she met Joseph Youngstrom at the Riverside Gardens Dance Hall; it was love at first sight, they were married July 26, 1933 in Rigby; their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls, LDS Temple. They lived and worked on the family farm in Menan, raising six children together. Inez is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved to dance, and enjoyed singing in the choir. She was involved with the friendship club where they quilted, gossiped and had so much fun together. She was also in a Pinochle group where she made many lifelong friends. She and Joseph served a LDS mission to Many Farms, Arizona. Joseph fell ill and passed away in 1978. She then married Bill Youngstrom, he preceded her in death. She married Gene Preslar; he also preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Joan (Lawrence – deceased) Buckland, of Sunnydell, Ranae (Walt) Jones, of Utah, Ronald (Sharon) Youngstrom, of California, Connie (Monte - deceased) Windmiller, of Ammon, Linda (Jim) Olson, of Boise, Marva (Fred) Hicks, of Rigby, 21 grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great grandchildren, who she loved very much. Inez was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Joseph Youngstrom, husband Bill Youngstrom and Gene Preslar, 6 brothers, 2 sisters, 2 grandsons and one granddaughter. The family extends a special thank you to Hearts of Hospice and The gardens of Rigby for their loving care. We will miss her bright sunny smile and cute songs. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Annis Little Butte Cemetery, with Bishop Vance Nelson, conducting. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby.
