Irby Cassel Oliver

Irby Cassel Oliver, 72 of Ririe passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at his home. He was born march 27, 1940 in Antlers, Oklahoma to John LeRoy Oliver and Essie Lee Titsworth. He attended schools in Bakersfield, California, and Puyallup, Washington. He served in the U.S Navy from 1959 to 1968 and from 1978 to 1989, retiring after 21 years. On December 21, 1963 he married Thelma Sue Perkins in Bakersfield, California. Irby was a lifetime member of the VFW. He enjoyed scuba diving, underwater photography and was an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed fixing cars and motorcycles and was building a motorcycle trike at the time of his death. Irby loved helping people and was caring and considerate to others. He is survived by his wife, Thelma Sue Oliver, daughter; Diana Louise Johnson, son; Sean Michael Oliver, all of Ririe, sister; Linda Lee Oliver, of Bakersfield, California, brother; James Hightower, of Purdy, Washington, 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
