Irene Wanda Byington

Irene Wanda Byington, 91, of Ririe, Idaho died Wednesday, May 26, 2004 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Wanda was born September 21, 1912 at Lorenzo, Idaho the daughter of John L. Hunsaker and Sarah Theresa Smout Hunsaker. She attended schools in LaBelle, Idaho and Lehi, Utah. She married Eugene Parley Byington on September 20, 1930 at Pocatello, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on March 8, 1962. She was an active member of the LDS Church. She served as a primary teacher and a visiting teacher for many years. She farmed with her husband in the Poplar area since 1930. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, her flower gardens and serving her family. She is survived by five daughters, Barbara (Amle) Landon of Ririe, Idaho, May Carpenter of Ririe, Idaho, Bonnie Chapple of Ririe, Idaho, Delores (Gary) Monroe of Ririe, Idaho and Ramona (Leston) Woods of Ririe, Idaho. Four sons; Donald H. Byington of Ririe, Idaho, Dale Eugene of Ririe, Idaho, Paul R. (Jean) Byington, of Ammon, Idaho and Harold (Debbie) Byington of Albuquerque, New Mexico. One brother, LeRoy (Leatrice) Hunsaker, of Moreland, Idaho. Fifty grand children, sixty-nine great grandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters, six brothers, five grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 29, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ririe 2nd Ward LDS Chapel in Ririe, Idaho with Bishop Steve Hickman officiating. The family will meet with friends, Friday, May 28, 2004 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the Eckersell Memorial Chapel and again on Saturday, May 29, 2004 from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. at the Ririe 2nd Ward LDS Chapel. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Funeral Home.
