Irene Alice Rolfe

Saint George, Ut – Irene Alice Rolfe, 75, passed away Wednesday Jan 16. She was born 16 August 1932 in Vita, Manitoba, Canada to John Garrett Russell and Violet May Bryant. She married Dee Rolfe, 8 September 1951 in San Diego, California. Irene grew up in Ridgeville, Manitoba before she moved to live with her Grandmother Lynch in San Diego, California where she met her husband Dee Rolfe of Rigby Idaho who was stationed there in the Navy. While Dee was overseas, she moved to Rigby, Idaho to live with her in-laws, David and Rose Rolfe who she learned to love dearly. Upon Dee’s return, they started their family in Rigby Idaho and then moved to Ririe, Id where they lived for over 20 years. There she worked at the Ririe Merc and then the U.S. Post Office for several years. They moved to Salt Lake City to be closer to her sons, and later moved to Las Vegas, NV and finally Saint George, Ut., again to be close to her family. Irene’s greatest passion in life was her love and service she gave to her husband and sons. She took no greater pleasure than to make sure her family was well supported and taken care of. She will be missed dearly. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Dee Rolfe of Saint George, UT, her two sons and daughter-in-laws Russell and Nancy Rolfe of Bellevue, WA, Jack and Lexie Rolfe of Saint George, UT; nine grandchildren, their spouses and two great-grandchildren, Amber Rolfe, Mandi Rolfe, Kenny and Grace Rolfe and their daughter and son, Hailey and Kody, Brigitte and James Cramer, Lynnie and Nick Gandola, Megan and Ryan Hambly, Christy Rolfe, Drew (Rustie) Rolfe and Kayla Rolfe; her brothers and sisters, Jack and his wife Loreen Russell (Hammon, Onterio), Caroleigh Garner (Winnipeg, Manitoba), Harvey and his wife Norma (Geulph, Onterio) and Joyce Dennis (Brookdale, Manitoba). She is preceded in death by her father John Garrett and her Mother Violet May Russell. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 19 at 2:00 pm at the Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff St., St. George, Utah. Friends may call Saturday, January 19 from 12:30 – 1:30 pm at Spilsbury Mortuary. A Memorial services will be Tuesday, January 22 at 1:00 pm at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, Idaho. Friends there may call Tuesday, January 22 from 12:00 noon – 12:50 pm at Eckersell Memorial Chapel. Interment will take place in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery, Rigby, Idaho, Tuesday, January 22 following the Memorial services.
