Iris Zelma Hall

Iris Zelma Hall 90, of Rexburg, Idaho passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2018 in Rexburg. She was born September 2, 1927 in Turnerville, Wyoming, the daughter of Linel Summers Meikle and Ida Elizabeth Merritt Meikle.

Iris grew up in Bedford, and Star Valley, Wyoming areas until she was seven years old. She attended schools in Bedford, Wyoming and in the Lyman-Archer, Idaho area. After her mother died she lived with her aunts and uncles until her father remarried.  She married Lynn F. Hall on November 10, 1948 in Burton, Idaho.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on June 21, 1966.  They lived in Burton, Idaho.  They later divorced.

She worked in Thornton, Idaho at the Marler Merc and Post Office, Kings, Joy Drug, 1 ^st Security Bank, Johnson Drug and retired after working at Broulim’s Grocery, all in Rexburg. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  She loved to serve in the primary and as a visiting teacher. She loved her family and grandchildren.  She enjoyed keeping a very meticulous yard, raising flowers and gardening.

Iris is survived by her children; daughter in law, Alene Hall of Rigby, LuAnn (David) Munns of Lyman, Idaho, Sheila Clawson of Hibbard, Idaho and Boyd Ray (Lorene) Hall of Burton, Idaho. Brothers; Robert “Lee” Levi (Arlene) Meikle of Meridian, Idaho and Arvid (Sandra) Meikle of Layton, Utah.  Sisters; June Johnson of Rigby, Idaho, Sophia Mae (Glen) Deti of Enumclaw, Washington and Twila (Greg) Ferguson of Rigby, Idaho.  18 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Duane Lynn Hall. Brother’s, Ronald Meikle, and S. Emery Meikle and sisters, Wanda Dunn.  Great grandsons, Tatum Hall and Gary Ridge Hall.  Son-in law, Scott Clawson.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Burton West LDS Ward Chapel (3958 West 2000 South, Rexburg, ID). The family will meet with friends Friday, August 31, 2018 from 6 to 7:30 PM and again Saturday, September 1, 2018 from 9:30 to 10:45 AM prior to the services, both at the Burton West LDS Ward Chapel.
