Iris Irene Layton

Iris Irene Robinson Layton, 80, of Rigby passed away November 22, 2014. She was born October 08, 1934 in Glines, Utah to Thomas Alma Robinson and Bertha Anna Jenkins Robinson. She was the oldest of 3 children. On December 15, 1954, she married Benjamin Gloyd Layton; they were blessed with 3 daughters and 1 son. She was the Lorenzo Postmistress and was employed as Kitchen Manager for School District #251 for 34 years. Iris was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various callings. She was also a member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers; she enjoyed oil painting, crocheting, reading and birds. She is survived by her children, Robyn (Tim) Jones, Kathy (Rod) Wallace, Christina (Rod) Anderson, Mark (Kimberly) Layton, 11 grandchildren and 15 great–grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother and sister. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the Lornezo LDS Chapel 401 W. 1st S., Rigby, with Bishop Steve Browning Conducting. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
