J Mercedes Avila Morales

Mercedes Avila Morales, 72 years old, of Rigby, passed away at EIRMC on Friday, April 8, 2022.

He was born on September 28, 1949 in Mexico to Juan Avila and Angelina Morales.

Mercedes married Maria Dolres Avila Cardenas and they had eight children. He worked in agriculture and during his life, he lived in Laguna Larga de Cortez in Mexico and Rigby Idaho.

Mercedes is a member of the St John Paul II Catholic church.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Dolres Avila Cardenas, Sons: Rafael Avila Cardenas of Rigby, Rigoberto Avila Cardenas of Rigby, Jorge Avila Cardenas of Rigby, Daughters: Olivia Avila Cardenas of Rigby, Lorena Avila Cardenas of Rigby, Angelina Avila Cardenas of Rigby, Eva Avila Cardenas of Rigby and Berta Avila Cardenas of Rigby, Sisters: Carmen Avila of Mexico, Maria Avila of Mexico, Dolores Avila of Mexico and Theresa Avila of Rigby, and brother: Luis Avila of Mexico. Mercedes has 22 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is preceded by his parents Juan and Angelina, and sister Amalia Avila.

The family will have a rosary service on Saturday, April 9, 2022 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Eckersell Funeral Home at 101 W Main St Rigby ID 83442. Mercedes funeral service will be held on Monday April 11, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the Christ the King Catholic Church St John Paul II Parish at 1690 E 17 ^th St Idaho Falls ID 83404. Interment will follow the service at Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
