Jack Edgar Koon, 90, of Rexburg passed away March 22, 2018, at the Homestead Assisted Living in Rexburg.
Jack was born August 14, 1927, in Thornton, Idaho a son of Morace Graves Koon and Maud Doris Anderson Koon. He was raised and attended school in Independence, Thornton, and graduated from Rigby High School. Jack was a member of the Presbyterian Church and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict as a signalman. Jack worked for Lucia Lodge and Café in California, owned and operated Pacific Valley Center Café and Convenience Center, Yellowstone National Park as a chef for Yellowstone Maintenance at Beartooth Montana and Yellowstone Lake. He enjoyed fishing and country drives.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Doris Mae Hansen and Family Jenifer and Karl of Rexburg, son, Jack Lee Koon and family Jake of Rexburg.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister Delia and brothers, Vance, Robert Frank and William.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. Family will visit with friends on Monday evening from 7-8:30 p.m. and prior to the service on Tuesday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. both at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
