Jack Burt Fehmel, 93, of Ririe, died at his home on Thursday, August 11, 2005.
Jack was born on June 11, 1912, in Magdeburg, Germany a son of Oskar Fehmel and Martha Vogel Fehmel. He attended school in Germany until he moved to the United States with his family. Jack worked for different poultry companies in Salt Lake City, Utah until he started a business selling eggs, collecting them from local poultry farms. He was called “Jack the Egg Man”. During the depression he moved to California where he was a supervisor for Safeway egg farms. Jack married Dorothy Esther Rowe Wilkinson in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1933. She preceded him in death. He married Beulah Adamson on April 17, 1963 in Bell Gardens, California. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Los Angeles L.D.S. Temple. As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints he served as a Stake clerk, ward clerk, Sunday school teacher and as Bishop. Jack moved to Idaho and was the manager at Ray Groth Oil in Idaho Falls. He enjoyed playing the piano.
Survivors include his wife Beulah Adamson Fehmel of Ririe, daughter Sherry Janell (Jim) Miller of Phoenix, Arizona, 4 sons, Steven Lewis (Doreen) Musgrave of Seattle, Washington, Charles Bruce (Raquel) Musgrave of California, Terry Michael (Yoko) Fehmel of Los Angeles, California, Floyd Phillip (Elsie Jane) Rowe of Idaho Falls, 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, first wife Dorothy, 3 brothers, and 2 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at the Ririe 2nd Ward Chapel. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday morning from 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. Burial will follow the services at the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
