Jacob Frank Kraupp, 79, of Rigby, died Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at his home. He was surrounded by those who loved him so much.
He was born February 8, 1934, in Mead, Colorado to Joseph Alvious Kraupp and Julia Emelia Smith Kraupp. He graduated from Idaho Falls High School in May of 1954; he then was drafted into the US Navy and served from 1955 to 1957.
On January 6, 1966 he married Amy Jane Kinghorn in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on June 13, 1997.
Frank was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many different positions in the church, including; home teacher, Primary teacher, High Priest Group Leadership and Stake missionary.
Frank’s career was at the Idaho National Laboratory where he retired in 1995.
Frank enjoyed spending time with his dear wife of 47 years, children and grandchildren. He loved to read and in his younger years enjoyed golfing. He will be deeply missed by his family.
He is survived by his wife, Amy Kraupp, of Rigby, Daughters; Lori Ann (Marc) Lomonaco, of Idaho Falls, Maria Jane (BJ) Byram, of Rigby, sons; Michael Joseph (DeAnna) Kraupp, of St. George, Utah, Travis Frank (Jamie) Kraupp, of Homedale; one brother James G. (Bonnie) Kraupp of Idaho Falls, 16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother; Richard Leroy Kraupp, a son; Jeffrey Scott Kraupp and a daughter; Amy Jane Kraupp.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 4, 2013, at the Grant LDS Chapel with Bishop Vaughn Quinn officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Lewisville Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
