James Leo DeLange, age 53, died February 27, 2006 at his home in Idaho Falls of natural Causes. Jimmy was born March 15, 1952 in Idaho Falls, Idaho a son of Nicholis F. DeLange and Rena M. Ward DeLange. The family moved to Redwood City, California when he was 3 years old. He attended Redwood City and Santa Clara, California schools through high school. He joined the Army as a young adult. After the military he worked in California for his brother-in-law in their plateing shop. He later moved to Texas and worked at a plateing shop. He also lived in Rexburg and most recently in Rigby where he worked for Rigby Produce and was care taker of the Old Sugar Factory for the past several years. Jimmy had many friends in and around Rigby and enjoyed fishing with his family and friends, the outdoors, a good thunder and lightning storm, animals, showing compassion to all especially reptiles and cats.
He is survived by six brothers and sisters: Nicholas “Fritz” DeLange of Santa Rosa, California, Marie “Sue” (Albert) Brown of Rexburg, Christina Lawrence of Mesa, Arizona, Stephen (Judy) DeLange of Caldwell, Idaho, Kay (Greg) Schule, of Santa Rosa, California, Kathy (Gary) Eastep of Phoenix, Arizona.
Funeral services will be held at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, Saturday, March 4, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with the family visiting with friends for one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
