James (Jim) Dwayne Fisher of Rigby, Idaho passed away Christmas day at the age of 88. He was born August 25, 1934 In Ririe, Idaho, the son of James Ray Fisher and Ida Arreva Wheeler Fisher. Jim served his country at the age of 16 in the United States Air Force and then later joined the Army National Guard after the Teton Dam flood in 1976. Jim married Janet Louise Beach in Bingham County on November 11, 1957. They bought a home in Milo. Idaho where they raised 7 children. They had lots of land and animals that Jim worked with his 5 sons. After enlistment Jim worked in construction until he started at the Post Office. He became a Supervisor and retired in 1992. Jim never retired at heart and worked on the farm until the dementia took over. Jim is survived by his wife Janet Fisher of Rigby, Idaho. His daughters, Kathy Louise (Bud) Robinson of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and April Anne (Fred) Cantafio of Rigby, Idaho. Sons; James Lee (Pam) Fisher of Rigby, Idaho, Jerry August Fisher of Rexburg, Idaho, Ronald Ray (Katrina) Fisher of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Von Lane Fisher of Idaho Falls, Sisters; Gladys Warren, Virginia Likes and Ruby Olson. Brothers; Joe Fisher and Lee Fisher. He has 24 grandchildren, and 32 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Lance Wayne Fisher, grandson Zak, granddaughter Sherestan and two sisters; Alice Mansfield and Lila Potter. The family will meet with friends on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Eckersell Funeral Home, (101 W. Main Street, Rigby, Idaho) from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.to celebrate Jim’s life.
