James Hubert Montgomery

James Hubert Montgomery, age 73, passed away August 9, 2018 from lung cancer. James was born June 25, 1945 in Ellamore, West Virginia. He attended schools there until his mother moved the family to Idaho in the early 1960's. He married Valerie Ann Metcalf March 24, 2000. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple March 21, 2003. James worked as a long-haul trucker most of his life with various firms and then with Doug Andrus Distributing from July 1991 until his retirement in Oct 2011.  During his time with Doug Andrus, James earned his 2 Million Safe Mile Award for driving that distance without accidents or tickets. James loved being a trucker as it allowed him to see new places and to meet new people. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing and camping. After retirement he enjoyed traveling with his wife Valerie. James is survived by his wife Valerie, and by his children Debbie, Julia Annette, Phyllis, Teresa, Roger, and Warren. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ucon Cemetery, 3960 East 105th North, Ucon, Idaho.
