James Howard Tibbitts Jr.

James “Jimmy” Howard Tibbitts Jr. age 60 formerly of Lorenzo, died Friday, January 30, 2015 of a heart attack at his home in Rexburg. Jimmy was born May 5, 1954 in Idaho Falls to James Howard Tibbitts Sr. and JoAnn Taylor Tibbitts, of Lorenzo. He was raised and attended schools in Rigby, graduating from Rigby High School. He attended 1 year of Trade School at Kingston, Arizona. He then married Gina Reed in Clark, Idaho; to this union they added 3 sons. They later divorced. He then married Peggy Aires; they were later divorced. Jimmy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He spent most of his life in the Rigby area but worked in Hawaii and Utah in construction as a concrete worker. He enjoyed hiking, hunting, fishing, wood working, and prospecting. He is survived by his sons, Josh (Cassie) Tibbitts, of Idaho Falls, Jake Tibbitts, of Idaho Falls, parents, Jim and JoAnn Tibbitts, of Lorenzo, sister, Jana Tibbitts of Lorenzo, brothers, Don Tibbitts, of Oahu, Hawaii, Bruce (Janet) Tibbitts, of Rigby, Roger Tibbitts, of Lorenzo, Jeff Tibbitts, of Lornezo and 2 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Jamie Tibbitts. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
