Jana Lee Simmons, 35, of Meridian, Idaho, died Sunday, November 5, 2006 in LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Jana was born November 14, 1970, at Idaho Falls, a daughter to Kent George Izatt and Carolyn Lee Dutson Izatt. She attended schools in Ririe, graduating from Ririe High School in 1989. She then attended Idaho State University and was on the Deans List, and later attended Boise State University. She married Jonathon Tom Simmons in Ririe, Idaho March 16, 1991. While living in Meridian she had a child care business in her home. She was service centered volunteering at a Battered Women’s Shelter, was a Breast Cancer Awareness Advocate and was honored by the Susan G. Komen Foundation. She was always supporting, helping and comforting those in need. She was selfless and always taking care of someone else. She was an amazing mother who adored her family and had an unshakable faith in God.
Survivors include: husband Jon Simmons, two daughters, Madelynn LaRaine Simmons and Elizabeth Ann Simmons, one son Jonathan Tyler Simmons all of Meridian, parents Carolyn Cheshire of Iona, Kent Izatt of Idaho Falls, one sister Amy Michelle (Marvin) Huffaker of Gilbert, Arizona and one brother Jared Kent (Jennifer) Izatt of Meridian.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, November 9, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. A memorial service will be held Saturday November 11, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the Eagle Church of the Nazarene 1001 West State Street, Eagle, Idaho.
