Jane Anne Jones Quick, age 79, of Blackfoot, passed away at her home on Monday, February 6, 2017.
Jane was born March 30, 1937, in Idaho Falls, Idaho the daughter of William J. Jones and Hope W. Bennett Jones. Jane was raised and attended school in Rigby graduating from Rigby High School in 1955. She continued her education at the Idaho State College, graduating in 1959 with her Bachelors in Elementary Education and in 1972 she completed her Masters. While in college she belonged to the A O Pie, Silver Tassels and Spurs sororities. Jane was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in various callings including Relief Society President, Young Women’s Advisor, a dedicated Visiting Teacher, Primary Teacher, and pianist in the primary and also in the school.
Jane married Morris L. Quick on June 1, 1959, in the Salt Lake City L.D.S. Temple. They made their home in Pocatello where she taught school at the Lewis & Clark Elementary for 28 years and retired after 32 years as a 1st grade teacher.
Jane is survived by her husband Morris L. Quick of Blackfoot, daughter Elizabeth (Vince) Bowen of Pocatello, 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Jane is preceded in death by her parents William & Hope Jones and son William Quick.
Graveside services for Jane will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2017, at the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 2:00 – 2:45 p.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
