Janet Louise Hodges-Hancock, 46, of Ririe passed away Tuesday November 8, 2011 peacefully at home of natural causes.
She was born June 2nd, 1965 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Darilyn Louise Fox, and Glenn Gene Hodges. Janet was raised on her family's farm in New Sweden, Idaho. She attended schools in Blackfoot and Idaho Falls. She met Harry Adakai and had three beautiful daughters. They later separated. On October 28th, 1989, Janet married David John Hancock in West Valley City, Utah. Together they added two more wonderful children to their wonderful family. They separated, but remained close. She worked for Huish Detergents in Utah for eight years.
She enjoyed baking, gardening, crocheting, painting, and creating amazing works of art. She loved spending time with her children, and looked forward to spending days with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her mother, Darilyn Cobia, Father Charles Cobia, Her Husband David Hancock, of Montana, her children NonyaRae King of Ririe, Sonia Adakai of Rigby, Antonia Adakai, of Idaho Falls, Justin Hancock and Colton Cheatle of Boise, Shayla and Michael Hancock of Ririe, as well as many adopted children, who claimed her as their mother, her siblings, Doug (Barbara) Hodges, Blaine (Angie) Hodges, Kenny (Vanessa) Hodges, Ada (Mike) Glines, Jason Hodges, Heath Hogdes, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews she loved very much.
She was preceded in death by her father Glenn Hodges, and her granddaughter Amilia King.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:50 a.m., prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery, under care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
