Janet Wright Purser, 77, of Rigby, died Monday, January 31, 2011, at the Homestead Assisted Living Center in Rigby.
She was born December 6, 1933, in Wendell, Idaho to Charles Melvin Wright and Hilda Victoria Erickson Wright. She was raised in Lewisville and attended schools in Midway and Rigby, graduating from Rigby High School. On August 27, 1954, she married Donald M. Purser in Lewisville, Idaho. They later divorced.
She worked as the Manager of Blocks Clothing in Rigby for many years. She then worked for INTEC at INL until her retirement. After retiring she worked for Winco as a cashier.
Janet was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and volunteered for The Rigby Chamber of Commerce. She enjoyed golfing and gardening.
She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Kay Barnett, of Ucon, Paula (Todd) Pettingill, of Rigby, sisters, LaDean (Max) Williams, of Blackfoot, LaRene (Craig) Keele, of Buhl, Lanae, of Ogden, Utah, Carol Toomer, of Rigby, Jackie (Calvin) Pabst, of Coeur d’ Alene, Peggy (Cliff) Edwards, of Rigby, brothers, Don (Donna) Wright, of Dallas, Texas, Bob (Beverly) Wright, of Pocatello, Carl (Julie) Wright, of Palisades.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother, 1 sister, and a great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 7, 2011, at the Rigby Stake Center, with Bishop John Schell, conducting. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m., to 7:30 p.m., Sunday evening at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday, prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery, under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
