Janice Eileen Galbraith, 66, of Rigby, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013, at her daughter’s home in Idaho Falls.
She was born November 6, 1946, in Eureka, South Dakota to Milbert Jakober and Ida Leicht Jakober. She was raised and attended schools in South Dakota. In 1966 she married James Dean Nichols; they later divorced. On July 3, 1989 she married Brent Galbraith in Leadore, Idaho; he preceded her in death.
Jan worked for Idaho Crop Improvement and Idaho State Bureau of Agriculture. She enjoyed playing pool and played in a pool league at Don’s Lounge in Rigby. She loved the outdoors; fishing, camping, and riding horses. She also enjoyed working in her yard and getting together to spend time with family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Robyn (Verle) Johnson, of Idaho Falls, Tammy (Brett) White, of Rigby, Kim (Dave) Sill, of Shelley, son, Curtiss Nichols, of Rigby, sister, Karen (Rich) Crouch, of Rapid City, South Dakota, brothers, Les Jakober, Leroy Jakober, both of St. Paul Minnesota, 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., prior to services at the funeral home.
