Jeanette Cleveland Ryder

Jeanette Cleveland Ryder, age 86, of Coltman, Idaho died Monday, February 20, 2006 at the Mallory House in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Jeanette was born February 18, 1920 in Rigby, Idaho the daughter of Raphael Cleveland and Edith Walker Hunter. She attended elementary school at Lorenzo, Idaho and graduated from Rigby High School. She continued her education at Glen E. Clark Business College. She lived in Swan Valley, Idaho with her mother and step-father, Arch Roberts who had a saw mill in Mike Spencer Canyon. On October 24, 1939 she married Lloyd Hansen Ryder who worked at her families sawmill. Together they purchased property on the west side of the Snake River in New Sweden, Idaho where they farmed. In 1977 they moved to the Coltman area. She lived there until October of 2004 when she moved to Idaho Falls to live at the Mallory House. She worked as a clerk in stores, a secretary and a Real Estate Agent. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served as Sunday School Coordinator, Sunday School Teacher, Young Women’s Secretary, Stake Missionary, Ward Activity Director, a Visiting Teacher, Relief Society Visiting Teacher Reporter, Cultural Arts Specialist, Temple Worker in the Idaho Falls Temple and served a mission to the Washington DC Temple. She loved to write poetry, stories and had several published. She is survived in death by her daughters Judy Davidson of Middleton, Idaho, Gail Bolton of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Jean (James) Aicher of Idaho Falls, Idaho. A sister, Beaulah (Richard) Kunz of Layton, Utah. Nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lloyd, a son, Blake Ryder, three sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 23, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the Coltman LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Alvin Arvey officiating. The family will meet friends Wednesday, February 22, 2006 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel and on Thursday, February 23, 2006 at the Coltman Ward Chapel from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Funeral Home.
