Jeanine Jackson Moore, 76, completed her mortal journey on March 10, 2024 at her home in Sunnydell in rural Madison County. Her niece Shelli who, along with her twin sister Shilo, was with Jeanine at her passing, said: “She passed peacefully in her sleep at home, exactly the way she wanted to, on her terms.”
She was born September 26, 1947 in Rexburg, Idaho to Parley Talmage Jackson and Naomi Hansen Jackson. She was the 6th of ten children with LaNae, Layel, Dee Wayne, Rickie and Arlen older than her and Viola, Gary, Rozan and Debbie younger. Growing she enjoyed swimming, horseback riding, baseball, etc. that kept her slim and trim throughout her youth. She graduated from Madison High School in 1965 and attended ISU later and was on the Dean’s list.
After high school she worked for the IRS in Ogden, Utah and then married James Lowell Moore. They lived in Roberts on the farm and had their two children, Danielle Jeannine in 1969 and Derek James in 1974. She and Jim were later divorced and she began her career with the INL where she finished as systems administrator. During most of her career she lived in Idaho Falls and then the final 15 years she lived in her daughter and son in law’s former home in Sunnydell.
She enjoyed reading, especially history, which she majored in at ISU. Her personal library consisted of a few hundred books, every one of which she had read. She was a very generous person who was willing to help where there was a need.
She is survived by her grandson Jesse (Kylee) Weekes and a great granddaughter Lilah. Her five surviving siblings are brothers Arlen and Gary (Margo) Jackson and sisters Viola (Bruce) Potter, Rozan (Dan) Goulding and Debbie (Galyn) DeCoria. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Derek, her daughter Danielle and husband Bart Weekes, her granddaughter Kerigan Weekes, her sister LaNae and brothers Layel (Linda), Dee Wayne (Susie) and Rickie (Helen) Jackson.
We want to especially thank the nurses, aides and staff of Eden Hospice for their tender care of Jeanine over the past several weeks.
A graveside service will be held Thursday March 14th at 11:00 AM at the Rexburg City Cemetery.
