Jeannine Gloria Watts Furrows, age 86, of Roberts, passed away at Morning Star Assisted Living in Idaho Falls, Wednesday February 4, 2015.
Jeannine was born in Roberts to Thomas Elmer Watts and Johanna Larson Watts on July 4th 1928. She graduated from Roberts High School. She worked at the Roberts Drug Store during her high school years, as did each of her older sisters. After graduation she worked as a clerk-typist at the 6th Army Headquarters at the Presidio in San Francisco. While living in San Francisco she met Dick Furrows who was waiting for discharge from the Navy. They were married March 10, 1951 in Roberts. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple May 25, 1955.
Jeannine was a member of the LDS Church and served as a Primary teacher and in the Primary Presidency, as in-service leader in the Stake Primary, as Relief Society secretary and teacher, as Sunday School Teacher, assistant librarian, Boy Scout advancement chairman for 14 years and as a Cub Scout den leader.
She enjoyed reading, traveling, visiting family, photo books, scrapbooks, bowling and gardening.
She is survived by two daughters: Gloria (Russell) Nelson of Layton, Utah and Christina (Kevin) Clayton of San Ramon, California, two sons: Greg (Sharilee) Furrows of Idaho Falls, and Alan (Andrea) Furrows of Rigby, a daughter-in-law Mary Jo Holm of Roberts, twenty grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dick, four sisters, one son Randy and two grandsons Brandon Thueson and Holden Furrows.
Funeral services will be held Saturday February 7, 2015 at 12:00 noon in the Roberts LDS Church. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Funeral Home, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, and on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the Roberts Church. Burial will be in the Burton Cemetery, Rexburg, ID.
