Jeffery Willard Hill, 53, of Idaho Falls, Idaho passed away, Thanksgiving day, November 27, 2025, at his home with his wife and children at his side. In June of 2021 Jeff was diagnosed with metastatic colon cancer, he fought a valiant battle and didn’t see losing as an option. He stayed positive and kept his sense of humor while fighting, also while fighting cancer Jeff met amazing people like Dr. Hale and Dr. Melanie Wood and their amazing staff that helped him fight his battle. We also thank the compassionate support provided by Heritage Hospice and Dr. Baker during his final months.
Jeff was born April 29, 1972, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the son of Howard G Hill and Carolyn Lavon Smith Hill. He attended schools in Rigby and Roberts, Idaho, graduating from Rigby High School. He continued his education in Pocatello, Idaho at Idaho State University with his certificate in Autobody Repair and in Idaho Falls, Idaho at the College of Eastern Idaho as an electrician.
During high school, Jeff worked at the Jefferson Hills Golf Course. He has worked for Willard Smith in new construction and others over the years. He was last employed by Omni Security where he worked for 10 years until becoming ill with cancer.
His family was his life. He married Cindy Kay Westwood in Rexburg, Idaho on April 2, 1993. They have two sons, Tyler (Sophie) Hill and Justin Hill of Idaho Falls, Idaho. He loved having fires in his backyard or in the outdoors with his family. Living in the Snake River Valley he took advantage of fishing, camping, four wheeling, and shooting. He loved to ice skate, attend car shows, and golf. He also enjoyed spending time “playing with his toys.”
He is survived by is wife Cindy Kay Hill; his son Tyler and wife Sophie Hill of Idaho falls; his son Justin Hill of Idaho falls; and his parents Carolyn and Dan Elliott of Rigby, Idaho.
He is preceded in death by Willard and Phyllis Smith.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 4, at 11:00 a.m. at Eckersell Funeral Home, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, Idaho with a viewing Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and a visitation prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., all at Eckersell Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Sutton Cemetery.
