Jeffrey Bradford Berky, 44, passed away in San Jose, California on August 8, 2008.
He was born on May 23, 1964 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to John A. Berky and Patricia Black Berky. He graduated from Wissahickon High School in Ambler, PA and attended UVSC in Orem, UT. He worked as a plumber in Provo, UT and later moved to San Jose, CA where he owned and operated his plumbing business. He married Cathleen Collett in the Oakland Temple. They were later divorced. Jeff attended and graduated from the DeAnza College School of Nursing. He was employed as a Psychiatric Nurse at the Barbara Aaron’s Pavilion at the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center at the time of his death. Jeff was friendly and outgoing, he especially loved helping people and will be sorely missed by his family and dear friends in San Jose.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, John and Colleen of Rigby, sisters, Kimberly (Perry) Christensen of Springville, UT; Brenda (Joe) Baker of Oxford, MA, and brother, Gregory (Patti) Berky of Bellfonte, PA. He was preceded in death by his mother and brother, Stephen.
A Memorial Service will be held in his honor at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2008 at the Rigby 4th Ward Church, 401 W. 1st South, with Bishop Richard Sterzer conducting. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
