Jeffrey Craig Weekes, 45, of Cypress, California died Wednesday, November 16, 2005 in Los Angeles, California following surgery.
He was born July 23, 1960 at Rexburg, Idaho the son of Steven Loyd Weekes and Glenda Merrill Weekes. He attended Spaulding grade school in Richland, Washington, Bonneville High School in Idaho Falls, Idaho, Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho, and Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah earning a degree in engineering. On April 20, 1985 he married Ann Hepworth in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were later divorced. He worked as an engineer for Rockwell, Cleveland Golf, Consolidated Devices Inc. and Adams-Rite Aero Space in California. As a young man he was active in the Boy Scouts earning the rank of Eagle Scout. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He enjoyed camping, golfing, motorcycles, outdoor activities and most of all he loved his children.
He is survived by his Fiance Dorene Reay of Cypress, California, four children; Brianne, Tara, Madison and Derek Weekes of Corona, California, parent’s, Steven L. and Glenda Merrill Weekes of Idaho Falls, a sister, Kay Lynn Hackett of Idaho Falls, and a brother, Rodney S. (Lisa) Weekes of Spokane, Washington, and a grandmother, Mildred Merrill of Idaho Falls.
Jeffrey was preceded in death by a son, Jarom Craig Weekes and a brother Eric Allen Weekes.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2005 at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. The family will visit with friends on Saturday prior to the services from 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. Interment will be in the Sutton Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
