Jerold Dale "J.D." Steen

Jerold Dale “J.D.” Steen, 79, of Idaho Falls, died Monday, January, 23, 2012, at his home. He was born March 21, 1932 in Stahl, Missouri to William Bernie Steen and Martha Ecil Sharp Steen. He was raised and attended schools in Melba, Idaho. On June 2, 1951 he married Phyllis Lorraine Wood in Gifford, Washington. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on April 2, 1969. He worked for Great Northern and Burlington Northern Rail Road for 25 years. J.D. was member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed model railroading and wood working. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Steen, of Idaho Falls, daughter, Karma (Justin) Martin, of Rigby, sons, William (LaRae) Steen, of Spokane, WA, Terry (Becky) Steen, of Austin, TX, Richard Steen, of Murray, Utah, Kenneth Steen, of Deer Park, WA, best friends, Lewis & Janice Rupert, of Colvile, WA, 25 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, 2 brothers and his daughter, Jerene. The family extends their sincere gratitude to Hands of Hope Hospice and to Cloud Nine for the compassionate care they gave to J.D. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hands of Hope Hospice.
