Jessie Dale Owens, age 58 from Idaho Falls, Idaho died November 6, 2024 in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Jessie was born July 8th 1966 in Idaho Falls, to Belinda Jean Rigoulot and Dale Blaine Owens. Jessie had a baby sister, Melissa Ann who was stillborn.  His parents later divorced. His mom remarried and Jessie got a bonus dad, Kent Landon along came two younger brothers, Shane and Cody. His dad remarried and he gained a step-mom, Teri Owens and along came a little sister, Audra.

He served in the United States Army from 1990 to 1993.

Jessie married Melissa Valantine in 1985. They had three children: Marissa, Joshua, and Mykaela. They later divorced. In 2000 he married Lisa Diane Jones Monroe. Into that union he gained her three children, Zachary, Nathan, and Mathew.

In School he was a member of FFA and the Rodeo Club. His hobbies where hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed watching the PBR and Rodeos. He also liked to collect hats, shoes, guns, knives and flash lights.

Jessie spent his early years farming, then he joined the Army. When he returned from the military he went back to farming for a while, then he went to work at Double L Welding and Fabricating.  He had a few miscellaneous jobs, then settled in at Anderson Manufacturing for the last 23 years.

Jessie was born and raised and spent his entire life in Eastern Idaho with the exception of his military career which were spent in New York and Somalia.

Jessie is survived by his wife of almost 24 years, Lisa Owens. His children, Zachary (Becky) Monroe, Marissa (Brett) Likes, Nathan Monroe, Joshua Owens, Mathew ((Jessa) Monroe, and Mykaela Owens. His dad, Kent Landon. His brother’s, Shane (Jennifer) Landon and Cody (Hailey) Landon. Sister, Audra (Steve) Fell. His six amazing grandchildren; Brendyn (MeKenna), Kelsa, Kyra, Finley, Kieran and Allana. His mother-in-law, Mina Jones.

He was preceded in death by his mom, Belinda Jean Landon. Dad, Dale Blaine Owens. Sister, Melissa Ann Owens and grandparents. Step-mom, Teri Lynn Owens and father-in-law, David Jones.

A funeral service will be held Friday, November 15, 2024 at 11:00 a. at Eckersell Funeral Home (101 W. Main Street, Rigby, ID). The family will meet with friends, Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Eckersell’s from 6:00 to 7:30 pm and again on Friday prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:45 am. Interment will be in the Grant Central Cemetery.
