Jesus "Jes" Daniels Jr.

Jesus “Jes” Daniels Jr., age 65, of Salmon, died at his daughter’s home, Sunday, June 10, 2012. Jesus was born December 26, 1946 at Buckeye, Arizona a son of Jesus Daniel Sr. and Maria Federico Daniel. He attended Adams school in Gilroy, California and graduated from San Benito Joint Union High School in Hollister, California in 1965. He then served in the United States Marine Corps serving in Vietnam from 1965 to 1969. He was a Police Officer in Hollister, Wasco and Arvin, California retiring in 1982. After retirement he counseled teens and chaired AA meetings in Salmon, Idaho. He was a member of the Back Country Horsemen and the VFW. He loved horses, his grandkids, hunting, fishing and being in the mountains. He lived his lifelong dream of being a cowboy. Jes was of Yaqui and Mexican Heritage. He is survived by his daughter Jennifer (William) Roden of Idaho Falls, six sisters: Bertha Daniel Jiron of Tucson, Arizona, Frances Daniel (Andrew) Sanchez, Julie Daniel, Maria Carmen Daniel and Amelia Daniel (Frank) Rivera all of Bakersfield, California and Anna Maria Daniel of Tucson, Arizona, one brother Alfonso Daniel of San Luis Obispo, California and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Jason Russell Daniels and a sister Conception Daniel. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the St. Charles Catholic Church in Salmon, Idaho. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday for one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Salmon Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby Idaho.
