Jesus Soto "Jesse" Martinez

Jesus S. “Jesse” Martinez, age 77, of Grant, died at his home, Sunday, March 13, 2005, Jesse was born June 20, 1927 at Zaragosa, Mexico, a son of Jesus Martinez Senior and Fransisca Soto Martinez. He was raised in Acuna, Mexico. He married Juanita Santos March 16, 1951 in Mexico. They moved to Texas where he worked on numerous cattle ranches. In 1958 they moved to Idaho. As Ranch Forman he worked for many farmers throughout the valley. He was a hard working man who never complained about any job he ever held, taught his children how to work hard, to take care of one another. He is survived by his wife Juanita of Grant; 4 daughters: Rosa (Antonio) Perez of Ontario, Oregon; Yolanda (Martin) Martinez of Firth, Idaho; Anabelia (Isaias) Lopez of Hyrum, Utah; Juana (Jacobo) Hernandez of Idaho Falls, Idaho; 3 sons: Joe L. (Delene) Martinez of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Jesse (Carla) Martinez Jr. of Shelley, Idaho; Ramiro Martinez of Grant, Idaho; 1 sister: Armandina Rivera of Del Rio, Texas; 2 brothers: Juan (Estella) Martinez of Del Rio, Texas; Virjilio (Horocia) Martinez of Coachella, California; 10 Grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson Alfredo Martinez. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. in the Christ The King Catholic Church in Idaho Falls. Rosary will be Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. The family will visit with friends at the Christ The King Catholic Church from 2:00 to 2:45 p.m. Burial will be in the Grant Central Cemetery.
