Jewel Barzee, 64, of Terreton, passed away at her home, Sunday, January 1st 2017.
Jewel was born June 5th, 1952 a daughter to Horace E. Smith and Theone Cooper Smith. She attended Firth Elementary, Ammon Junior High and graduated from Bonneville High School in 1970. She continued her education at Ricks College in Rexburg, then became a licensed Massage Therapist.
She married Lloyd Ray Barzee April 28th 1972 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple; they were blessed with 7 children.
Jewel was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; she served as Relief Society President, Primary President, Stake Primary President and in the Young Women’s organization. Jewel enjoyed gardening, cooking and homemaking. She attended more sporting activities of her children and grandchildren than any other parent or grandparent. She served all with love and dedication and without hesitation.
She is survived by her husband Lloyd Barzee of Terreton, two daughters: Jennifer (Russell) Fillmore of Salt Lake City, Utah and Jellese (Steve) Johnson; five sons, Arlo (Natalie) Barzee of Union Grove North Carolina, Vincent (Tiffany) Barzee, of Terreton, Spencer (Sherri) Barzee of Clifton, Idaho, Todd (Cherish) Barzee of Caldwell, Idaho and Nathan (Savana) Barzee of Juneau, Alaska; four sisters, Louise Bowman of Chandler, Arizona, Ethlene (Marvin) Rock of Inkom, Idaho, Mavanie Vein of Orem, Utah and Shauna Speirs of Idaho Falls; two brothers, Kent Smith of Ogden, Utah and Duane (Audrey) Smith of Idaho Falls, Idaho and 28 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 6, 2016 at the Terreton LDS Stake Center. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services, both at the church. Burial will be in the West Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
