Jewel Neils Hansen

Jewel Neils Hansen, 92, of Rexburg, died Sunday, February 1, 2009, at Rexburg Nursing and Rehab. He was born June 28, 1916, in Independence, Idaho to Hans Martin and Emma Jensen Hansen. He was raised and attended schools in Independence, Idaho. He Married Dora Johnson Bush on March 30, 1960 and after her passing he married Lucille Waters Mattson on November 1, 1974 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He Farmed and Ranched in Independence and on the Rexburg Bench. He enjoyed fishing, snow machining, working with his cattle, wood working, and playing his harmonica. He is survived by his wife Lucille Hansen, of Independence, Id; two brothers Dell (Hazel) Hansen of Sugar City, and Rulon (Mary) Hansen of Decorah, Iowa. He is preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 5, 2009, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, ID. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral services from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at Eckersell Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
