Jill Marie Berg

Jill Marie Berg, 56, of Rigby, passed away June 5, 2008, at her home. She was born May 8, 1952, in Butte, Montana, a daughter of Robert Carter and Minnie Triniman Carter. On August 30, 1976 she married John Berg in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Jill taught school for thirty-two years, six years in Wisdom, Mont., and twenty-six years at Roberts Elementary in School District 251. She has taught summer school for twenty-six years, the last five as director. In October, 2007, she received the ‘American Star of Teaching Award’ for the state of Idaho. She dedicated her life to educating children and implementing innovative programs to help children achieve their potential. Her philosophy: “Live the life you love, love the life you live”. She is survived by her husband, John Berg, of Rigby, three sisters, Frankie Merritt, of Butte, Mont. Mary Ann Harkness, of Rigby, Betty (Jim) Murphy of Butte, Mont., and a brother, Tom (Karen) Carter, of Butte, Mont. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Minnie Carter, and two brothers, Robert Kelly and Edwin Kelly. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, June 8, 2008 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Butte, Mont.
