Jim Rex Davis, 57, of Rigby died Saturday, August 29, 2009, at his home.
He was born June 6, 1952, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to William Glen Davis and Melva Smith Davis.
He attended schools in Rexburg and Rigby, graduating from Rigby High School. He was married to Kris Furniss, they later divorced. He worked as a mason with his father in Swan Valley, Idaho and was a master stone layer for many years in Sun Valley, Idaho.
Jim was an avid fisherman, a loving caretaker for his mother, and an excellent cook. He enjoyed spending time with his special friend, Shelley Conrad.
He is survived by his mother, Melva Davis, of Rigby, sisters, Kay Walstrom, of Bullhead City, Arizona, Gaylene (Larry) Koon, of Bullhead City, Arizona and B.C. Canada, a step-son, Tandom LaZalde, of Pocatello, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 3, 2009, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main St., Rigby. The family will receive friends Thursday, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery, under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel.
