Jimmie Rae Voyles Jr., 70, passed away on January 9th, 2024, at his home in Ririe, Idaho, after a battle with cancer. He was born on June 2nd, 1953, in Chico, California. Jimmie was a hard-working carpenter and businessman and became successful in many business ventures throughout his life. He ran Commercial Installers casework, millwork, and cabinet installation for the last 25 years, building his empire. He traveled extensively throughout the western United States and lived in California, Idaho, Alaska, Washington, and Montana.
Jim enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting, and camping in his younger years. In his later years, he enjoyed going on drives, watching wildlife, and searching for interesting investment opportunities. More than these, he enjoyed spending his time with his friends and family whether that was on the job site, on vacation, or having a barbecue.
Jim is survived by his wife, Janice Voyles; his children and their spouses, Jamie and Jonathan Thompson, Skyler and Emma Voyles, Shawnalee Voyles, Justin and Chelsea Johnson, and Jade and Megan Johnson; his parents Sharon Kay Davis and Jimmie Rae Voyles Sr; his brothers and sisters, Tim and Cheryl Hayward, Kevin and Debbie Ethington, and Aaron and Darcie Ethington, Jim Voyles and Jay Glen, Julie and Eric Dietz; his 10 grandchildren; and his granddog Jax. He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Jerry Voyles, and his brother, Jack Voyles.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 17th, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, a funeral service at 1:00 PM at Eckersell Funeral Home in Rigby, ID and then a luncheon at the Voyles’ residence thereafter. Please bring a copy of a memory you’ve had with Jim to build our memory book, or bring a small memento to place in a shadowbox in memory of Jim. A celebration of life will be held at his cabin in Seeley Lake Sunday, June 2nd this year and all of Jim’s close friends and family are encouraged to mark this weekend on your calendars.
Jimmie will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his love for his family, and his adventurous spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
