Jimmy Ray Potts II, of Rexburg, passed away at Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg, Wednesday, January 6, 2016. Jimmy was born October 24, 1974 at Mt. Home Air Force Base a son of Jimmy Ray Potts and Kayleen M. Milazzo Potts. He attended schools in Phoenix, Arizona and graduated from Deer Valley High School in Glendale, Arizona. He enjoyed being a Boy Scout and earned his Eagle Scout when he lived in Phoenix. He managed a Tire Store in Snowflake, Arizona. He attended Idaho State University and studied business. He enjoyed writing poetry, was a published poet. He enjoyed rodeo, fishing and BYU sports. He especially enjoyed editing movies for his family. He was an avid John Wayne enthusiast. He especially loved spending time with his children, nieces, nephews and family. He is survived by his parents: Jimmy Ray Potts and Kayleen Marie Potts of Rexburg, two daughters: Miriah (Oran) Hatch of Tucumcari, New Mexico, Shahannah Potts of Holbrook, Arizona, one son Kohl Thomas Potts of Holbrook, Arizona, two sisters: Kareena (Matt) Alley of Teton, Idaho, Tamera Potts of Rexburg, Idaho, two brothers: Antony (Nicole) Potts of Idaho Falls and Robert (Janalyn) Potts of Salem, Oregon, a grandmother Maxene Leben of Peoria, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Samuel Potts, a grandmother Afton Potts and grandfather Leon Milazzo. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 11, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Burton East LDS Church, 2332 West 2000 South, Rexburg, Idaho 83440. The family will visit with friends at the church Monday, January 11, 2016 from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Burton Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
