Joe D Treasure, age 88, of Rigby, passed away at his home Tuesday June 10, 2014.
He was born April 24, 1926 at Grant, Idaho a son of Fredrick and Alta Miller Treasure. He attended Garfield Elementary and Rigby High School.
He married Margaret McLeod Treasure August 18, 1954 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
Joe lived in the Garfield area all of his life. He was a builder. He loved construction of all kinds. It was not only his vocation but his hobby also. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in a variety of positions from Scout master to Ward Clerk and bishop’s counselor.
He was actively engaged in the Republican Party for over forty years. In both 1985 and 1988 he received the Region 7 service award; in 2009, the Dennis Olsen volunteer award.
He is survived by his wife Margaret M. Treaure, Children: Christine (Jim) Boulter and James (Rone) Treasure all of Rigby, a brother Delwin (Pat) Treasure of Caldwell, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Zay and a grandson Christopher.
Private Family Graveside services will be held at Grant Central Cemetery.
