John Rial Ball, 73, of Lewisville, passed away at his home Wednesday March 18, 2015.
John was born August 7, 1941 in Rigby Idaho, a son to Alfred Vernon Ball Sr. and Ruey Allen Ball.
John farmed and ranched in the Lewisville/Monteview area for many years. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Central States Mission and served in other various church callings. He married Betty Lee Parkinson, they were blessed with one son and later divorced. He spent his life raising his son and enjoyed watching his band of sheep. As a sheep man, John was a hard worker and as tough (and gentle) as they come. He spent a great deal of time taxiing around in the John Deere. He wrote beautiful poetry. John enjoyed sports and was a great basketball and football player in his youth and throughout adulthood.
John married Violet Gayle Randall, July 7, 2007 in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Together they enjoyed watching basketball, sports and going out to dinner. John especially loved to tease Gayle and telling stories.
He is survived by his wife Gayle R. Ball of Lewisville, a son John Allen (Dawn) Ball of Lewisville and 3 grandchildren Rial, John and Jabella.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Larene and Jennie, and a brother A.V. Ball.
