John Charles Dawdy

John Charles Dawdy, age 78 of Idaho Falls, passed away at his home Tuesday, December 08, 2015. John was born August 26, 1937 at Spokane, Washington a son to Elmer Earl Dawdy and Gladys Stanton Dawdy. He served in the United States Army. He married Dorothy Dexter in Idaho Falls She preceded him in death. He worked as a Configuration Control Specialist for Argonne National Lab. He was a charter member of the Veteran Motor Car Club of America and served in every office for over 50 plus years. He was also a member of the Bonneville County Search and Rescue for 37 years. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle (Dawdy) Stallings of Idaho Falls, a son-in-law Bryce Stallings of Rigby, a daughter-in-law Shana Dawdy of Longview, Washington, a sister Earline Hefferlin of Ann Arbor, Michigan, four grandchildren, Rachelle and Harmony Dawdy of Longview, Washington, Jordyn Stallings of Boise, Idaho, and Jeryka Stallings of Idaho Falls, Idaho, his mother-in-law Dorothy Loveland Dexter of Burley, Idaho, two brothers-in-law, Dennis (Dana) Dexter of Burley, Idaho and Larry (Alice) Dexter of Juliette, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, his parents, and a son Brett Dawdy. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Garfield LDS Church, 71 North 3700 East, Rigby. The family will visit with friends on Friday Evening from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, Idaho, and on Saturday, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the Garfield Church. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery in St. Anthony.
