John Charles Merrill

John Charles Merrill, 58, of Idaho Falls died Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at his home. John was born October 9, 1957, in Preston, Idaho to Charles James Merrill and Jane LaRue Brown Merrill. He was raised in Rigby and graduated from Rigby High School. He married Linda Summers and they were later divorced. He married Leslie Smith and were later divorced. John was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He worked as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator for 39 years. He enjoyed sports, working on his trucks and cars, and outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, and four wheeling and his yard he had the best looking yard on the block. He loved his family especially his grandchildren. John is survived by his daughters Annie (Matt) Stamm of Idaho Falls, Amber (J.P.) Gayan of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, Melodee (Ben) Sanders of Idaho Falls, son Justus Merrill of Idaho Falls, sister Kathy (Michael) Maloney of Rigby, brother Raymond (Sonja) Merrill of Prescott, Arizona, his step children Tyra Siepert and Jessie Adamson both of Idaho Falls, and 13 grandchildren John was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. The family will visit with friends Friday from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. and prior to funeral services from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
