John Lloyd Poulsen

John Lloyd Poulsen, 49 of Nibley, Utah died Friday, January 3, 2014, at his home after an extended illness. He was born April 16, 1964 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Richard Kay Poulsen and Coleen Poole Poulsen. He was raised and attended schools in Rigby, Idaho, Providence, Utah, and Bountiful, Utah, graduating from Woods Cross High School in Bountiful. John continued his education at Utah State University in Logan. On April 8, 1989, he married Debra Jones in Wellsville, Utah; they were blessed with a daughter and a son. John was a skilled carpenter, specializing in cabinet building; he worked in the construction industry throughout his life. John was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved the great outdoors; enjoyed golfing, bow hunting and was an avid fisherman. He especially loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Debra Jones Poulsen, daughter, Kylie Poulsen, son, Hunter John Poulsen, all of Nibley, Utah, parents, R.Kay and Coleen Poulsen, of St. George, Utah, sister, Jeanette (Jeff) John, of Providence, Utah, brothers, David Kay (JoAnn) Poulsen, of Nibley, Utah, Brent Walter Poulsen, of St. George, Utah, Michael Dean (Laurie) Poulsen, of Centerville, Utah. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Alden Poulsen and a niece, Nichole Poulsen Marriot. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the Nibley 6th Ward LDS Chapel, 360 W. 3200 S., Nibley, Utah. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Logan City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. Friends may contribute to the John Lloyd Poulsen Memorial fund in care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby Idaho,83442. The family expresses their sincere gratitude to Dr. William Sal, MD (Cardiologist) and the staff at Logan Regional Center; as well as Dr. Brian Whisenant, MD, (Surgeon), Dr. Deborah Budge MD, (Cardiologist), and the wonderful staff at Heart and Lung Transplant Clinic - IHC Medical Center in Murray for the exceptional care given to John.
