J.D. "Cowboy" Scarborugh
John Dorrington Scarborough, age 83, died Sunday May 16, 2004 in the Pocatello Veterans Home. J.D. was born August 9, 1920, at Lajunta, Colorado, the son of John Jasper Scarborough and Nellie Dorrington Scarborough.
J.D. grew up and attended schools in Casper, Wyoming, and graduated from Natrona High School in Casper, Wyoming. J.D. enlisted in the National Guard 115th Horse Calvary. He served during WWII with the U.S. Army in the Battle of the Buldge in the European Theater. J.D. was a member of the Los Angeles County Employee's Association. He worked in the Los Angeles County Clerks office for 30 years.
Survivors include a sister Sally (Jack) Jacobsen of St. George, Utah, and a brother Daniel Paul (Donna) Scarborough, of Roberts, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and one brother.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 20, 2004 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, Idaho, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery where Veterans Rites will be performed by the Rigby Veterans Team.
