John B. Simon

John B. Simon, 84 of Roberts, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. John was born January 11, 1932 in Emporia, Kansas to John William Arthur Simon and Anna Mae Smith Simon. On July 11, 1953, he married Florence Irene Judd in Delta, Colorado. They were blessed with 2 sons, John and Jim. They made their home in Roberts and together with their sons, they built their family business; John Simon Septic Service. John enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting; especially sage hens. He was a member of the Roberts Lions Club and served as President and Jokester. He was a big tease all the bank tellers and waitresses loved and hated him at the same time. If he called you a name, it meant he liked you. He is survived by his sons, John S. (Holly) Simon and James E. “Jim” (Sheila) Simon, both of Menan; sister, Bonnie (Dick) Yarbor, of Burns, Oregon; brothers, Jim (Linda) Simon, of St. George, Utah, Jack “Butch” Simon of Alamogordo, New Mexico, 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and many grandchildren who John and Irene adopted over the years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene and his parents. A memorial service will be held at 1pm Monday, November 21, 2016 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main St. in Rigby. The family will meet with friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Roberts Cemetery at a later date. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
