John Thomas Thomson

John “Jack” Thomas Thomson, 80, of Rigby, died Monday, February 12, 2007 at the home of his daughter in Eureka, Nevada. John was born May 26, 1926, at Rexburg, Idaho a son to Royal Thomson and Verna Gladys Ingram Thomson. He was raised in the Rexburg area and attended schools at Rexburg and Sugar City. He married Ann Rawson in 1945. They later divorced. He married Margie Lerene Lords on November 28, 1958. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple March 10, 1964. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 17 years. He also did milk testing for area dairies for 10 years and was a dairy farmer. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions including Branch Missionary at the time of his death. He liked to take long drives to see the sights, visiting his family especially his daughter in Washington. He is survived by his wife, Margie and children, Marie (Stan) Zimmerman of Spokane, Washington, Wes (Bonnie) Thomson of St. Anthony, Royle (Teri) Thomson of Paul, Kim Thomson, Jollene (Frank) Jones of Sandpoint, Washington, Verna (Tim) Taylor of Rexburg, Millie (Clyde) Oram of Eureka, Nevada, Calvin Thomson of Idaho Falls, Les (Sherri) Thomson of Ucon, Bryce (Heidi) Thomson of Rexburg, Perry Thomson of Idaho Falls, and a step son Robert Lords of Tacoma, Washington, Siblings, Van (Macel) Thomson of Menan, Roy (Karen) Thomson of Blackfoot, Tim (Irene) Thomson and Judy Thomson of Sugar City, Nina (Keith) Hathaway of Rexburg, Myrna (Stuart) Newman of Menan, Terrell (Kathy) Westover of Wasilla, Alaska, 26 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Maryann Mariano and a granddaughter. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 16, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Clark Ward LDS Chapel. The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby and on Friday for one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
