John Albert York, 64, of Rigby, died October 27, 2006 of injuries received in an automobile accident.
John was born September 28, 1942, a son of Joseph A. York and Eva Collier York. He attended Tipton Elementary and Tipton High School in Tipton, Oklahoma. He married Glenda Jean Potter December 19, 1964 at Maggie Valley, North Carolina. He worked for General Electric as a certified Electrical Technician and Certified Welder. He served in the United States Marines during the Viet Nam War. He volunteered at Salvation Army repairing home appliances.
Survivors include three daughters: Cynthia Yvonne York of Aztec, New Mexico, Connie Machelle (Todd) Cordell of Rigby, and Melissa Ann York of Aztec, New Mexico, and one son Jay Alan (Carrie) York of Farmington, New Mexico, one sister Faye (Ray) York Hurley of Palm City, Florida, one brother Joe Clay (Francis)York of Lubbock, Texas and 10 grandchildren
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery. Military Rites will be given by the Jefferson County Veterans Team.
