Johnnie Mae Koon

Johnnie Mae Koon, 70, of Rexburg, died Saturday, January 20, 2007, at Pinebrook Assisted Living Center. Johnnie was born July 29, 1936 in Blue, Oklahoma, a daughter of John Clark Hedgcock and Ida Mae McGeehee Hedgcock. She attended schools in Modesto, California. She married Jack Edgar Koon on April 2, 1957 in Tijuana, Mexico. She worked at Me N Stans as a waitress, Fresh Pak and Meleleuca. She along with her husband owned and operated the Pacific Valley Center Restaurant, Store and Gas Station in California. Johnnie enjoyed fishing, camping, and traveling. She is survived by her husband Jack Koon, daughter Doris Mae (Gus) Hansen, and one son Jack L. Koon and 2 grandchildren all of Rexburg. She was preceded in death by parents, an infant son, two brothers, and four sisters. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2007, at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Keith Presley officiating. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday evening from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. and prior to the services from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. both at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
