On the morning of June 4, 2023, Jolene Hammon Willis, 68, left this life surrounded by family and loved ones. She will be missed but we are comforted knowing she will always be with and a part of us.

Jolene was born on May 27, 1955 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Mary Elizabeth Shaw and Wilford Lee Hammon. She was the second daughter of four children. Jolene grew up in Menan, Idaho. She loved marbles and baseball, wanting to be a baseball player when she grew up. Tenderhearted, she hated it when her brothers fought, was always close with her siblings, and did everything with her sister, Lois.

Jolene graduated from Rigby High School in 1973 and went to beauty school, later cutting hair and giving perms in her kitchen. She married her high school sweetheart, Merlin H. Page, in the Idaho Falls Temple in 1974. They loved ballroom dancing together. Jolene and Merlin welcomed their first child, a daughter, Cheri Jo a year later and made their home in Rigby, Idaho. Two more daughters, Lisa and Cortney, a foster daughter Ronda, and their son, Micah, made their family complete. They later divorced. As a single mom of four, Jolene worked hard to provide for her children.

Jolene loved camping and spending time with her family. She had her mother’s hands and her father’s stubbornness, and a love for rocks: all of which she passed down to her children and grandchildren.

Jolene married David Willis in 1993, they later divorced after 25 years together. She spent her last years living with her daughter, Cortney and family, in Victor, Idaho. She loved to joke and tease, and be teased by her grandsons; and to snuggle and color with her granddaughters.

Jolene loved her family and we were blessed to be able to spend a lot of time making memories with her in the last weeks of her life, after being diagnosed with cancer.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Wilford Lee and Mary Elizabeth Shaw Hammon, two brothers: Terry Hammon and Deloy Hammon, her son Micah Don Page and a granddaughter, Ashlee Tyree Smith.

Jolene is survived by her daughters: Cheri Jo (Shane Brown) Page and their children Kiley and Freja; Lisa (Dwyane) Christiansen and their children Skyler, Brayden, Trayson, and Raylin; Cortney (Jesse) Jones and their children Cody, Levi and Ty; Ronda (Jack) Shaw and their children Zack and Austin; granddaughter Devan, and three great-grandchildren Kayde, Zayne and Evelyn.

Funeral services for Jolene will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the LaBelle LDS Chapel (4223 E 528 N Rigby, ID 83442). The family will visit with friends on Wednesday evening, June 7, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Eckersell Funeral Home (101 W Main St, Rigby ID 83442) and Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Interment will follow the funeral service at Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
