Jose Antonio Varela-Tena, 34 of Rigby, died Monday July 4, 2005, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center from injuries he received in an automobile accident.
Antonio was born June 13, 1971, at Colonia Garcia, Chih, Mexico a son of Jesus Jose Varela and Juana Verela Tena. He was raised in Mexico and came to the United States at the age of 19. He lived in the Rigby and Menan areas where he worked at Ellsworth Produce in Lewisville, Walker Produce in Menan, Boyce Dairy in Lewisville, JV Livestock in Grant, and was currently working as a Seizer Mechanic at Taylor Produce in Rigby. He was a member of the Catholic Church. He loved fishing, hunting, music, four wheeling and his truck.
He is survived by his wife Maria King Varela of Rigby, his parents: Jesus and Juana Varela of Rigby, Sisters: Graciela (Horacio) Oscar of Wilcox, Arizona, Angelica Varela of Salt Lake City, Utah, Belma (Ramon) Cardenas of Grant, Idaho and brothers Alberto Varela of Hamer and Carlos Varela of Rigby.
Funeral services will be held Friday July 8, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel and on Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Holy Rosary Church. Burial will be at Grant Central Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
