Joseph Wesby Linsman, local ski instructor and fishing guide, of Rigby, passed away at E.I.R.M.C. in Idaho Falls Tuesday, August 11, 2015 with his loving companion Vanessa Milyo O’Neal by his side.
Born on December 1, 1950 at Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia and raised in Easton PA.; he was the son of Constance Mae “Ricker” Linsman and a step-son of Alden Ward Linsman. Joe’s biological father was Joseph S. Wesby Jr.
Joe, fondly known as “Butchie” by family and friends, was a charismatic, comical free spirit who loved the outdoors. He was an avid skier and fisherman. Joe moved west to pursue his desire of being surrounded by the beauty where both skiing and fishing were his passions. He was an avid skier all of his life. He was a ski instructor at White Pine Ski Area in Pinedale, Wyoming and at Kelly Canyon and various other ski areas in the intermountain west. With his passion for fishing he was a guide at Heise on the South Fork. He worked as a truck driver driving for Holman Trucking out of Caldwell and Andrus Trucking in Idaho Falls. He also owned Hatch Marketing in Daniel Wyoming and operated The Rex Movie Theater in Rexburg.
Joe was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Eva V. Booker; grandmothers; Sadie Viola “Hyde” Ricker/Kehs and Cora Alice “Rasner” Wesby and grandfathers; Charles Edward Ricker and Joseph S. Wesby, Sr.
He is survived by: Daughters; Deanna L. Booker and Megan F. Linsman; Sister; Diane Seiple; two grandchildren, a niece, nephews and cousins.
