Joyce Monson Ball

Joyce Monson Ball, 77, of Ucon, died Friday, February 05, 2010, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, in Idaho Falls. She was born August 11, 1932, in Idaho Falls, to Eugene Hayes Monson and Myrtle Josephine Manning Monson. She attended schools in Hyrum Utah, and Idaho Falls, graduating from Idaho Falls High School. On March 20, 1953, she married Arland Jay Ball in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Together they had four children. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities including Ward and Stake Primary Presidencies, Relief Society Counselor, Primary Teacher, Visiting Teacher, and as a Temple Officiator in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple with her husband for many years. Joyce enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Nancy (Steven) Taylor, of Rigby, Marian (Sam) Brinton, of Ucon, Douglas J. (Judy) Ball, of Brigham City, UT, and Blair M. (Laurie) Ball, of Cherry Valley, CA, a sister Nelda (Kay) Petersen, of Boise, ID, 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 8, 2010, at Monument Ward LDS Chapel, 10854 N. 41 E., Ucon, with Bishop Jon Hogge conducting. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Sunday, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery.
