Joyce Lounsbury Barber

Joyce Lounsbury Barber, 74, of Archer, Idaho died October 27, 2006, at Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was born August 24, 1932, in Rupert, Idaho to Ralph Oren and Alice Fern Broadhead Lounsbury. She grew up and graduated from high school in Ririe, Idaho. On June14, 1950, she married Ronald Lincoln Barber at Ririe, Idaho and on March 16, 1966 they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls L.D.S. Temple. He died on August 7, 1997. Joyce worked at Brown’s IGA in Ririe and sold Avon products. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was active in church callings serving as chorister, teacher, primary president, and many other positions. Joyce enjoyed giving service to her family and others. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, quilting, gardening, and besides the love of her family, she loved to travel and enjoyed many trips. Joyce is survived by her children; Ronald Kent (Beth) Barber of Ririe, Rodney L (Therese) Barber of Rexburg, Jolene (Terry) Johnson of Ririe, Mike (Tena) Barber of Lorenzo, Richard J (Cindy) Barber of Archer, daughter-in-law Shelli Barber of Ontario, Oregon, siblings Donna (Jim) Jennings of Boise, Helen Tanner of Idaho Falls, Karma (Ray) Brown of Ririe, Jerry (Teresa) Lounsbury of Tucson, Arizona, 20 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ronald and two sons, Theodore “Ted” and Kevin. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at the Archer L.D.S. Ward Chapel with Bishop Norman Erickson officiating. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday, November 1, at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. and prior to the service at the church on Thursday from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Sutton Cemetery.
